SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMMES
KVK, Kottayam is organising short term training programmes of
one to six days duration for the farmers, farm women and rural
youth of the region. We organise need based
training programme to provide first hand knowledge and related skills
FRONTLINE DEMONSTRATIONS
Farmers and scientists direct interaction
Demonstrating the technologies for the first time before being fed
into the main extension system by the scientists of research station
FLDs aim at demonstrating the production potentialities
of new released and pre-released production potentialities
of cereals, pulses and oilseeds in farmers fields under different
micro-agro climatic regions of Kottayam and farming situations
ON FARM TESTING
Seeing things from the farmers point
of view
An adaptive research conducted on
farmers field with the support from scientist / subject matter
specialists to find out the sustainability of new technologies
developed. Refinement of new technology to specific area is ensured.
EXHIBITIONS
KVK, Kottayam participate in the exhibitions conducted by different NGOs
and line departments by putting up stalls.
AGRICULTURAL SEMINARS
KVK scientist handle class room sessions on different topics in
agriculture, live stocks and fisheries at Krishi Bhavans span over the
distict
FARMERS VISIT
Farmers from different regions of Kerala state visit KVK
in order to acquaint with activities of Kendra.
